About the project

Atrangi, nestled within the iconic Jumeirah Al Qasr in Dubai, offers an immersive sensory experience inspired by the summer residences of Sheikhs. Accessible by traditional abra boats, it bridges nature, culture, and design. Conceptualised by Designsmith, the restaurant pays tribute to nostalgic homemade dishes prepared by grandmothers, with design elements narrating this culinary journey. The seamless merge of indoor and outdoor spaces, bathed in natural light and panoramic waterfront views, evokes an al fresco dining ambiance with indoor comfort.

The name Atrangi, meaning ‘unique’ and ‘colourful,’ encapsulates its design philosophy, reflecting the diverse cultural and culinary tapestry of India. Craftsmanship shines in natural wooden flooring, earthy-toned walls, and rattan furniture, merging ethnic charm with contemporary comfort. Noteworthy features include an innovative architectural facade and a grand double-height entrance. A glass enclosure provides an all-year outdoor seating area, adapting to Dubai’s intense summers and cooler winters. Chef Ritu Dalmia’s culinary vision celebrates India’s diverse flavours, preserving culinary legacies in a culturally rich, sophisticated atmosphere.
